AEPAM
was established in March 1982, under Resolution to provide
assistance to Ministry of Education in planning, implementing,
monitoring and policy formulation.
Honorable
Education Minister visited AEPAM on October 2, 2004 and
directed:
- Restructuring
of AEPAM
- Establishment
of Think Tank
- Consolidation
of National Data Bank
- Improvements
and initiation of capacity building programs
Charter
of AEPAM
•
Monitor and evaluate the education sector projects and programs
being implemented throughout the country.
• Collate
data collected through provincial EMIS, and develop database
of critical indicators.
• Maintain linkages
with Provincial and District Educational Institutions.
• Organize
training programs for capacity building of Education Managers.
• Impart
training at the pattern of NIPA to all Educational Officers
eligible for promotion to senior positions on regular basis.
• Organize
training programs in computer/IT for head teachers, teachers,
computer personnel and education managers.
• Establish
and house “Think Tank” for assisting the Ministry
of Education
in the formulation of Education Policies.

Internationally Compatible and Dynamic System of Educational
Policy Making, Planning, Management and Implementation.
Mission
Statement
With
a national commitment to facilitate development and promotion
of education through cooperative policy, planning, innovation,
capacity building, quality assurance, watch of implementation,
establishment and up-gradation of information system and
data bank.

Functions
The
Academy is mainly charged with responsibilities of training
of Educational Administrators and Planners; Conducting research
regarding issues related to various aspects of Education Development,
strengthening MIS and Education Statistics activities; Documentation
Services and providing professional advisory services to the
Ministry of Education and Provincial Education Department.
The Academy has 5 Divisions: namely (i) Education MIS (ii) Mangement Training
(iii)
Policy
Research (iv) Communication &
Publication (v) Administration and Finance
Divisions. Presently, 11 Faculty Members including Director
General, majority of Faculty Members are foreign qualified,
having diversified background are working in different divisions. |

International
Cooperation Program
The Academy, being the prime institute in the field of EPM
and has been collaborated with international agencies: JICA,
UNESCO, IIEP,
IBE, WB,
ADB, UNICEF,
UNDP, HIID(Harvard)
for carrying out various training programmes as well as
research projects. Now the Academy has launched its "International
Coo `peration Programme" under which Training, Research,
EMIS & Documentation activities would be undertaken
jointly by sharing the resources on mutual reciprocal basis.
